This change also carries over into the second Mass Effect, so the default character model is consistent across all three games - of course, you can still choose to customize her look, and the character creator has been overhauled extensively. You'll also notice that the default Femshep from the first game has been replaced with her iconic look in Mass Effect 3. The games' color grading, along with lighting and shadow effects, has received a facelift too. The greater level of detail makes environments look fuller and denser, and characters look better as well.
The entire Legendary Edition will support 4K resolution and feature improved visuals, textures, models, and more. I promise there's more to its visual enhancements than lens flares.
